Stepping into the production workshop of Hengkai Electric, you’re immediately greeted by the vibrant energy of manufacturing. Workers are diligently performing their respective tasks along the assembly lines for high- and low-voltage complete switchgear equipment—some meticulously tightening screws, others carefully inspecting wire connections. This batch of equipment, soon to roll off the assembly line, will be supplied locally in Changsha, further bolstering the city’s power supply and reliability.

Since its establishment, Hengkai Electric has steadily grown from an initial distributor into a national-level high-tech enterprise in the energy sector, integrating power engineering design, power project construction, power equipment manufacturing, power engineering consulting, power operations and maintenance, and photovoltaic new energy solutions. After listing on the Hunan Equity Exchange, the company has further accelerated its development. Its research-and-development and manufactured products—such as distribution equipment and prefabricated substations—are widely used in various electricity-consuming environments, including industrial parks, factories, hospitals, schools, and residential communities.

Huang Zhenxiang, General Manager of the Complete Sets Division at Hengkai Electric Co., Ltd., said: “As we enter the third quarter, our company’s order volume has reached saturation, increasing by nearly 30% compared to the same period last year. Judging from the current production schedule, our production tasks for the third quarter are already scheduled through the end of September, and some urgent orders even require us to interweave and accelerate production.”

It is understood that Hengkai Electric has currently established operations in five regions—Changsha, Shanghai, Chenzhou, Cambodia, and Thailand—and has set up branch offices in Southeast Asian countries such as Cambodia and Thailand. Among these, the Cambodian subsidiary, since its establishment in 2019, has deeply cultivated the local market, steadily increasing its market share year after year. Thanks to its high-quality products and attentive customer service, the company continues to achieve breakthroughs in overseas markets. As of July, its overseas revenue for this year has already reached 15 million U.S. dollars.

Huang Zhenxiang introduced: “This year, our overseas order volume has increased by more than 40% year-on-year, with particularly strong growth in orders from Southeast Asia. In the first half of the year, we have already completed deliveries for projects such as switchgear sets for overseas substations and smart power distribution system projects.”

To better adapt to overseas market conditions, Hengkai Electric continues to invest heavily in product R&D. In response to the high-temperature and high-humidity environment typical of Southeast Asia, the company has improved the materials used for its switchgear cabinets, enhancing their corrosion resistance and effectively reducing product failure rates. Currently, the company’s monthly production capacity has reached 1,200 units. While the domestic market is mature and stable, the company is experiencing strong momentum in expanding into foreign markets.
